An exceptional quality cloisonné matt enamel bowl on brass or bronze with a very highly detailed and highly stylised fantasy mediaeval jousting competition, amidst a forest, and surrounded by vignettes of hunting, dancing, and royal presentation, on a mottled blue-green ground, which matches the verso.
Made in the 1970s by German painter and celebrated enamel artist, Walter Lochmüller (1905-1992). Unsigned.
