An unusual, and very heavy, floor lamp of gilt wrought iron with a ringed and balustered stem, splayed tripod base with a hammered design, frog-like feet with toes, and ‘bowl’ near the top with an incised design to the rims and a band of green-brown velvet to the middle. It was handmade in Spain in the 1950s or thereabouts.

The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned and rewired with a good length of gold-coloured cable, an inline foot switch, and a 3amp UK plug. The lamp accepts a single B22 bayonet cap bulb.

  • Condition

Clean, and ready to use. The velvet band is a little rough around the edges, literally, but still displays well. In places where the lamp has been regularly lifted and handled, the gold has distressed in a very attractive manner, and has worn through to the red bole in some places.
