A vintage vase with a square base, a highly elongated neck, and a thick, wide rim, mouthblown in milky blue glass with a tactile etched surface, and decorated ‘a scavo’ (literally, ‘excavated’, or in the manner of acid-worn glass found at archaeological digs – a surface finish popular with post-war Murano glassmakers) to the lower part, with a mossy, mottled green and brown powder-like appearance. No maker has been identified, but it is probably mid- to late-1970s studio glass, and from Germany (which is where we acquired it).
It has a ground pontil to the base. Unsigned.
