A very large and unusual pair of vintage wall lamps in the shape of 5-arm candelabra, made in a tactile wrought iron, in a style that combines both antique rustic aesthetics and mid-century brutalism. The form is traditional, with hand-wrought twisted elements, brought forward a century with rough textures and torch-cut metal, and blended with a faux-rust patina. They definitely make a statement.

They were made in France in the 1950s or thereabouts.

Each arm terminates in a hand-painted ivory candle tube covering a lamp-holder, each of which accepts an E14 small Edison bulb. Both lamps have been rewired, with new lamp-holders and an earth cable. As per the original design, the new cables have been professionally artificially patinated to blend with the rest of the lamp so that they’re not visible when viewing from the side.
