A small, but weighty, sculptural handmade glass disc with metal stand, comprising layers of clear glass with gold leaf and streaks of cobalt, cyan and purple glass. It was made in the late 1980s or early 1990s on the island of Murano, Italy, by Seguso Vetri d’Arte – although this example is unmarked, we’ve had another bearing the transparent and black text SVdA label used from the late 1970s onwards.
The black-lacquered metal stand has a plaster-weighted base and a navy blue woollen baize.
Height: 220 mm / 8.6"
Width or Diameter: 150 mm / 5.9"
Condition: Glass is in perfect condition, but the metal stand has a small dent to the top of the base (see final image).
