An original antique candlestick-form table lamp made of cast and hand-wrought iron elements, with a spoked base, a stem with wrought curlicues and a hammered pattern of dots and crosses, topped with a bobèche and candle-cup that contains the lamp-holder. Probably German in origin, and dating to the 1920s or thereabouts.
The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, waxed with a museum-grade microcrystalline wax, and brought up to modern electrical safety standards with a new British-made bronzed brass switched lamp-holder with safety switch feature, and a length of double-insulated 3-core twisted cable with period-appropriate gold silk braided sheath. Supplied with a 3A British 3-pin plug.
The lamp accepts a single B22 bayonet cap bulb.
