A vintage and very large torpedo-shaped pendant lamp, made of mouthblown cased glass with a white opaque core and an outer casing of vibrant orange. The lamp was made in the mid-1960s, almost certainly on the island of Murano, Italy.
Because the lamp is very tall, relatively slender, and puts out a strong orange light in most directions, with a narrow white down-light, it is best placed as an accent lamp to highlight a piece of furniture or sculpture, or in the corner of the room for warm mood lighting, rather than acting as the ‘main’ light in a space.
The lamp has been rewired with a generous length of premium Italian 3-core cable with a matching bright orange Rayon braid, and a new Italian-made earthed Bakelite lamp-holder.
The lamp accepts a single E27 Edison screw bulb.
