A good sized vintage table lamp of clear glass, decorated 'a scavo' - a surface decoration pioneered in Murano to mimick the look of ancient 'excavated' glass by fusing salts and ashes to the glass during manufacture, resulting in an uneven and chalky surface. It also has a brass cap that's aged to blend in with the antique look of the glass.

The lamp was designed by Vittorio Rigattieri in the late 1970s for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, Murano.

The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned and rewired. It's been refitted with a vintage-style Italian Bakelite E26 Edison Screw bulbholder with in-built switch, and has a generous length of premium Italian twisted cable with a vintage-style 'zigzag' Rayon braid.
