A vintage pair of tall table lamps in the Neoclassical manner, of turned beech with a column- or baluster-like profile, lacquered to look like mahogany, with hand-painted ‘ebonised’ accents. They were made England in the mid-1990s.
We’ve yet to identify the maker, but they produced several ranges of Neoclassical table lamps across the 1980s and 90s for retailers like John Lewis and Laura Ashley, each marked ‘Made In England’ or ‘Made In The UK’.
Each lamp takes a single B22 bayonet cap bulb, and has a good length of gold-coloured cable with an inline switch and UK plug.
Pair of Tall Vintage English Neoclassical Turned & Painted Hardwood Table Lamps
Condition
Minor knocks and bumps, with some wear to the black lacquer. Baize to the bases is a little ragged after a previous rewire, but still does its job. Both lamps are clean and are ready to use.
