An original vintage opaline glass pendant lamp, produced by GEC / General Electric Company in England in the 1950s. The shade has a tapered drop-shape, with an open base for easy access to the bulb, and is capped off with a brass 'monk's cap' gallery and tube. The lamp has been rewired with a brand new British-made solid brass earthed bulbholder that complies with modern safety standards and a generous length of Italian-made vintage-style cable with a deep gold braid. It accepts a B22 bayonet cap bulb. Internal parts marked 'G.E.C. Made in England'.
