A scarce small, but weighty, globe-shaped sommerso glass table lamp, with a core of pink, a layer of controlled bubbles (‘bullicante’), cased in a thick layer of clear. It was produced in the 1960s on the Island of Murano, Italy, by the Archimede Seguso furnace.

The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, and brought up to modern safety standards with a new British-made solid brass lamp-holder with safety switch, a generous length of vintage style 3-core cable with an attractive brown silk braid, and a new 3-pin UK plug.

The lamp accepts a single B22 bayonet bulb.

The lamp bears a fragment of its original foil label to the base. The Archimede Seguso furnace used these labels from the 1950s onwards.
