A large original vintage elevation drawing for the shops of Wythenshawe's Civic Centre (unrealised). The elevation is dated 1956, and was executed in a typical, clean mid-century style. Whilst a technical drawing, the it's very visual and graphic, and would look great framed. Responsible for the design was Manchester's city architect, Leonard Cecil Howitt (1896 – 1964), who was responsible for much of Manchester's post-war civic architecture, including Manchester's iconic 'Toast Rack' building. The plan was draughted by Douglas Black, from whose estate this was purchased.
