A very large antique wall lamp of distressed gilt bronze with decorative foliage, flower and some very complex hand-welded shapes, set on a chunky stepped oak backplate. The lamp dates to circa 1910-1920, and was made in Germany by R. Mauch. The lamp accepts an E27 bulb. As with many early lamps, it is designed to take a opal frosted bulb, with no additional shade. Would also suit a low-wattage bulb with a decorative or 'squirrel cage' filament.
Antique Gilt Bronze & Oak Floral Wall Lamp / Sconce
Condition
Generally, excellent. The gilt has worn with a century or more of cleaning, but still remains in places. The lamp has old cable, and may need rewiring prior to use.
