An amateur carved table lamp of solid oak in the form of a stylised owl with an ebonised beak and a wide base. Dates to the 1930s or thereabouts, and was probably the product of a man-in-a-shed working from a pattern in a woodworking magazine; charming and authentic in its flaws and wonkiness.
The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned, waxed and rewired with a new British-made patinated brass B22 bayonet lamp-holder with safety switch feature and a generous length of antique-style 3-core cable with a gold braid.
