A classic art deco plafonnier 'flycatcher' shade of clear glass with a satinated finish and an eye-catching design of moulded Gothic arches that are replicated and overlapped to give the impression of flower petals, with a more explicit flower design in a boss in the middle of the shade. Unsigned, but certainly made in France, and dates to the 1930s.
The shade is suspended on three lengths of brass-plated steel chain with an embossed ‘hammered’ design to the sides which neatly straddles the Gothic and Art Deco fusion of the glass shade. These are attached to three silk-covered retaining finials that carry the shade.
This lot comprises the glass shade, three finials, three lengths of chain. No ceiling hook or electrical components included.

Condition
Minor rubbing to glass, but otherwise in very good condition. There’s some rusting to the chain, which largely affects the links closest to the shade, and are mostly concealed when suspended. Clean and ready to install.
