A scarce vase that draws inspiration from antique Murano chalcedony / calcedonio glass, a complex technique that used almost alchemical combinations of powders and processes to recreate the natural striations of chalcedony stone and similar agates. The petit vase was designed in the 1970s by designer Gro Bergslien for Norwegian glassworks, Hadeland.
It comprises marbled opaque layers of different greens and sedimentary frit, with the occasional flash of bold pink. It has a flask-like form, with a tall flared neck.
Signed to the base, 'Hadeland Gro'.
