A large original Art Nouveau wall mirror with heavy cast iron frame decorated with whiplash foliage décor, and a very heavy bevelled mirror plate with gentle foxing. The mirror dates to c.1900, and is probably English.
The frame is bare cast iron, which has been given a conservation standard microcrystalline wax finish to prevent corrosion, and has an attractive wide planked timber back fastened with steel strapping.
The mirror is very heavy indeed, and is fixed to the wall with four screws.
The frame and the plate will be separated for shipping purposes, but is very quick and easy to reassemble – just six nuts.
