A very large glass table lamp made by Murano glassworks, Seguso Vetri d'Arte in the 1970s.
The mouth-blown body is made of a thick hyalith glass. Hyalith is a type of glass invented in the early 19th century that is entirely opaque black, which allows no light to pass through it.
It is capped off with chromed fittings and a brand new Bakelite bulbholder in a vintage style, with built-in switch. It accepts an E27 Edison Screw bulb. It has been rewired with a generous length of premium Italian vintage-style twisted cable with a mottled grey linen braid.
The lamp bears its original label to the side.
