A vintage and unusual handpainted turned wood table lamp in the form of a kokeshi doll, a traditional Japanese toy. Here, the doll is a girl in a red kimono decorated with flowers. The lamp was made in Japan in the 1950s or early 1960s.
The lamp has been dismantled, cleaned and rewired with a new Bakelite bulbholder, a Bakelite inline switch, and a good length of premium Italian twisted cable with a vintage-style zig-zag Rayon braid.
