A striking and very large hand-knotted woollen kilim wall rug bearing an abstract design of candles and oil lamps, very much in the mid-century style, with a palette of primarily reds, pinks and purples with mustard accents against a deep black ground. The rug was made in Tunisia in 1988.

The flatweave rug has a subtle abrash to the black (a variation in the colour which indicates the wool used to make it was hand-dyed in small batches), and a loop in each top corner for hanging the rug on a pole (or two carefully spaced hooks/nails).

The rug has two signatures/markings woven into the design, and a label to the verso.
